Neurological Foundation

NEUROLOGICAL FOUNDATION NATIONAL COUNCIL

The governing body of the Neurological Foundation is its Council.

Members come from throughout New Zealand and from all walks of life. The present Council continues this pattern with members from Central Otago, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Te Awamutu, Hamilton and Auckland.

The current chairman is Ian Robertson a Marketing Consultant from Hamilton who has been on the Council since 1990. The deputy chairman is Greg Thompson, an Auckland lawyer.

The Council sets the policy for the Foundation's operations, receives recommendations from its advisory committees and staff regarding research projects, investments and an annual budget.

Members of the Council work closely with staff and other volunteers to ensure that the maximum amount of operational expenditure (research, professional education and public information) is achieved at the least possible administrative cost.
