The Neurological Foundation of New Zealand is offering a training and research Fellowship to allow a suitably qualified medical graduate to pursue a career in Neuropathology in New Zealand. The proposed start date is January 2005 but this is negotiable.
It is a requirement of the award that the Fellow return to work in New Zealand after their year of study and research.
The Fellowship will be for one year and the successful applicant will join the Neuropathology Registrar Training Programme in the Central Sydney Area Health Service in Sydney, Australia. The Neuropathology Unit, under the direction of Professor Clive Harper, is responsible for clinical and forensic neuropathology, nerve and muscle biopsies, and has an active research program. The Programme is centred on the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The Fellow will be required to carry out a research project during the year. This will be relevant to Neuropathology and may be a project of the Fellow's own (approved) design, or part of the spectrum of research carried out in the Neuropathology Unit (click here for a list of current research projects).
Applicants should have completed, or be studying towards, a Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists.
This offfer is open-ended and applications can be accepted at any time.
