Founder of Douglas Pharmaceuticals, philanthropist
Professor Dick Laverty headed the Pharmacology Department at Otago University until his retirement. He chaired the Scientific Advisory Committee and served on the Council from 1993 to 2000.
SiR David Levene, KNZM OBE
Founder of Levene retail chain, philanthropist, Patron of Parkinson's New Zealand and the Outward Bound Trust
Gerald McDouall, OBE
Wanganui Division chairman Gerald McDouall served on the Council from 1971 to 1991.
A founding member of the Council, Peter Shaw was chairman from 1989 to 1993.
Former chairman of the Canterbury/West Coast Division, Merv Vile served on the Council from 1971 to 1991.
